Biography
Born in 1976 in Dumfries, Scotland, Victoria grew up with a passionate interest in the world of design, particularly focusing on the discipline of fashion. From school she went on to study at the Scottish College of Textiles, and gained an impressive BSC Honours Degree in Fashion and Textile Design Management. In 1999 Victoria moved to Birmingham to take up a position as a professional fashion designer. During this time she enjoyed regular travel, visiting suppliers and customers through out the UK, Italy and the United States. These experiences proved an invaluable source of inspiration as she mixed with a variety of fascinating individuals in a wide range of interesting artistic environments. Victoria makes full use of her personal experiences in her painting. Many of the ideas that inform her work are representations of images and memories she has stored up on her extensive travels. These ideas are expressed within strict formal parameters using intense acrylic colours; the impact of each piece rests upon her incorporation of a definite focal point which leads the eye across the canvas in an irresistible journey of discovery. Victorias stunning images are on display in collections across the UK. Working largely with wide edge canvas, Victoria accepts commissions to create pieces of any size and colour.
