Biography
Originally known for his landscapes, in the past few years Martin’s subject matter has broadened to seascapes and interiors. One element however has remained consistent and this is his interest in the effects of colour and its creation of an emotional response; consequently his pallet has remained an individual trademark of his work. Martin also works in abstraction, although he tends to paint this within the confines of a representational subject. Using the symbolism of objects Martin is interested in representing the ‘positive side’ of human life by using colour and texture.
